DL535

The DL535 is the first kit offered by Valley Locomotive works. Based on the tried and true Kato RSD4/5 chassis, the trucks have been narrowed to HOn3 Scale Brass Mechanic and a new body designed and printed by Ride Trains for Valley Locomotive Works. The kit faithfully representing the fleet of locomotives purchased by the White Pass and Yukon starting in 1969. Thirteen of these were eventually purchased. Three have subsequently been purchased by the Durango and Silverton for use on their railroad. They had 1200 horsepower from an Alco 251 prime mover.
